Impressive Heartland records first win of the season

 

Heartland of Owerri had cause to sing Hossana in the highest on Wednesday after earning the first season win at the Dan Anyiam Stadium.

The Nazi Millionaires rose to the occasion in the oriental derby against next door neighbours Enyimba, running away with a 2-0 win.

The Owerri landlords were quick to dish out the information shortly after the match announcing via @HeartlandFC_ng “Our first win of the season”

The Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side had prior to this time conceded eight goals in three matches but the two goals scored against Enyimba has become an added boost to Heartland who will be hoping that the victory marks a turning point

.Shadrack Oghali and Adache Emmanuel sealed victory for Heartland thanks to their 33rd and 53rd minute goals.

It was however different strokes for Rivers United as they lost their first match of the season to Wikki Tourist in Bauchi.

The Garden City side despite the loss put up a good show giving their host a run for their strength and tact.

It was however Jigawa Golden Stars that recorded goal harvest beating Abia Warriors at home 1-3. In other interesting ties Sunshine were held to a 2-2 draw by Lobi Stars while Warri Wolves who lost 3-0 to Lobi Stars at the weekend defeated visiting Kastina United by the same margin.
